We decided to get married during covid-19 debacle. It took ages to find a date with the registrars and eventually we booked 27th Aug 2021. The race was on as we had 2 months to plan everything. After ringing around we were so surprised that someone had cancelled their booking on the Princess Caroline in Southampton, Having a shared love of the sea and all things nautical we were thrilled.
Andi was so kind and empathetic, talking though our wedding reception plans every step of the way, accommodating all of our wishes, suggesting a prior viewing etc.
The vessel was gorgeous, lots of varnished wood and plenty of accommodation, the menus were amazing, the prices were reasonable, the whole event went without a hitch, and the staff were professional and engaging and you felt like they were friends rather than staff.
We had a banner printed and dropped this off the day before, along with our wedding cake and the guest cards and table plans. All were available and set up perfectly on the day. The staff cut up the cake and gave it out to all of our guests at the end of the trip. The journey out to the Solent was fabulous, The DJ was perfect too, acknowledging our playlist and ensuring guests suggestions were played. We had some awkward guests and all of their requests were met with amazing smiles and courteous responses, such as, one adult requested a child’s menu, due to covid-19 a whole family had to self-isolate and missed the reception, this was immediately accommodated, and one of our guests left a baby highchair out on the roadside of the quay, A member of the crew jumped off the vessel as the ramp had been raised, and collected it for them. It really was a perfect venue and I have put in a request for my next significant birthday party to be there too.
